Literate Software LLC ("we" or "us" or "our") respects the privacy of our users ("user" or "you"). This Privacy Policy explains if and how we may collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile applications (the "Apps").

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully.  IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THE TERMS OF THIS PRIVACY POLICY, PLEASE DO NOT USE THE APPS.

We reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time and for any reason. We will alert you about any changes by updating the "Last updated" date of this Privacy Policy. You are encouraged to periodically review this Privacy Policy to stay informed of updates. You will be deemed to have been made aware of, will be subject to, and will be deemed to have accepted the changes in any revised Privacy Policy by your continued use of the Apps after the date such revised Privacy Policy is posted. This Privacy Policy does not apply to the third-party online/mobile store from which you install the Apps or make payments, including any in-game virtual items, or third-party content-subscriptions externally, which may also collect and use data about you. We are not responsible for any of the data collected by any such third party.

Data Collection, Usage and Retention Policy

  1. We do not need to know anything about you for you to install and use our Apps or to purchase any content within the Apps using the App Store platform through which our Apps are distributed.
    • We do not require or solicit any information from you to use our Apps.
    • We have no registration feature or account creation requirements with us for use of our Apps.
      • Your registration and purchase with the App Store or with third-party content providers for content to be used within the Apps is governed by the privacy policies of these third-parties.
    • We do not currently use ANY ad platform within the Apps.
    • We do not require or collect any geo-location information or financial information for the use of our apps.
    • Our Apps do not access or transmit any identifiable information about you to us or to third parties.

  2. Apps may provide indirect information to us or to third-parties when you use our Apps such as the IP address, installation ID and/or device signatures.
    • Apps, when they access our web site to get update information, notification news, etc., may leave the IP address and device signatures in the server logs as happens with any web site visit.
      • We do not analyze or extract or store any identifiable information derived from the above even if it were possible.
      • We do not share this information with affiliates or any third-parties.
      • The data is automatically deleted with the typical server log rotations.
    • We use third-party instrument platform within the Apps (fabric.io) to get non-identifiable aggregate usage and stability trends and crash information to be able to maintain and update our software.
      • This instrumentation does not access or transmit any personal information about you nor does it require any permissions to access them for use of our apps.
      • The usage of the indirect information such as IP address and Installation ID is governed by the policies of the third-party platforms. For current policy of fabric.io see Fabric.io Data Collection Policy.
      • We do not copy or store any information from such platforms within our servers.
      • We do not provide access to or share the data on these platforms with any affiliates or third-parties.

  3. The only way we get identifiable information about you is when you voluntarily contact us via e-mail or Twitter for product or service information, reporting a problem or to get support services.
    • When you voluntarily send this information to us, you agree to let us use this information for the following purposes.
    • We use this information to respond to your request.
      • We do not extract, analyze or store such information anywhere outside our e-mail servers. This data may exist indefinitely.
      • We do not share this information with any affiliates or third parties except as below.
    • We may share the non-identifying content of the issue in your communication with the device platform provider (e.g., Apple) or the content provider (e.g., NY Times) if necessary to facilitate resolving the issue.
      • We do not share any identifiable information such as e-mail addresses without explicit permission from you.
